Anytime anyone heard I still had my kid in a crib, they always asked the same question: Why? And my response was always the same: Why not? She didn't try to climb out of it. It kept her contained so I didn't have to worry about her walking around the house at night while we were sleeping. Also, if she wasn't ready to sleep, I could just put her in her crib and she'd happily play by herself until she finally went to sleep, while I was off in another room doing whatever I needed to do. I joked that she could stay in her crib until she was 13 as far as I was concerned, but I knew I had to make the switch eventually.
We've been playing up the "big girl" role lately trying to get Ella to do things she normally doesn't want to do like go on the big potty instead of the training potty. So we asked her if she wanted to sleep in a big girl bed or her crib, and of course her response was big girl bed. Donald changed it over after her nap time today and 2 hours later, she's still in there playing in the bed. I'm sure the novelty will wear off much sooner than we hope, but it's not even 6pm and she's begging for bed time so she can sleep in her big girl bed. If only every night could be so easy!
One more goal accomplished.

Claire was in her crib until she was 3 too. But Ella does look cute in her big girl bed!
Big girl!! She looks adorable. And frankly, I have no intention of putting Harper in a big girl bed any time soon. Yikes.
