8 years ago I happened upon a wedding message board. Having just recently been married and currently in the process of helping both my sister and my best friend plan their weddings, it was a bit like finding gold. I went through that stage where I loved weddings so much that I thought I wanted to be a wedding planner (I think a lot of women go through this after their own wedding), so I had plenty of advice to give and this was the perfect venue to express my opinions and feel needed.
Fast forward to 8 years later. The wedding board is now defunct, but it spawned numerous other boards where many of us are still members. If you asked me all those years ago if I thought I'd still be a member of the boards after all these years, I'd say no way! But I have made some great friendships during those years, friendships I never thought would exist, friendships I didn't think were even possible to form through the internet.
It's nice to feel like you belong to a group, to feel liked and appreciated. I love being able to call these women my friends. It's just like any other relationship. We have our ups and downs. We don't always agree on everything. We bicker, we laugh and we may occasionally call names, but through it all we understand each other and there is love and respect. I have met some genuinely remarkable women and I am eternally grateful to call them my friends.

Aww, what a great picture of you guys!
And, yup, I went through the wanting to be a wedding planner thing as well -- so much so that I actually got certified. Did I do any wedding planning after that? Nope. LOL But I did use that to jump into working at a wedding magazine, so I guess it helped me in some way.
I'm verklempt. :hug99: Love you.
