Weekend is Over

I had a lovely birthday, even if it was sans the St. Patrick's Day festival. I do not regret not going at all. Had a nice time at the zoo with my family, the girls had a ball. Ella really got into the animals for the first time, which was really fun. We had a fabulous lunch at DiPrato's (I got the chicken saltimboca panini, a cobb salad and a delicious piece of Godiva chocolate cake for dessert). My family was very generous and gave me lots of cash and I went out and spent it all on clothes. Later that evening, Donald and I went to see 300 at the movies. It was a wonderful birthday.

In high school, my best friend used to send me green carnations every year for my birthday. It became a tradition and even after she moved to San Antonio, she would send me green carnations. This year she called to say that she wouldn't be able to send me flowers. My wonderful hubby wanted to keep up the tradition, so he gave me these on my birthday. They're not carnations, but they're green. And it's the thought that counts. He's a good one, that hubby of mine.

And I don't mind being 33 at all. You're only as old as you feel and I refuse to let myself feel old.

Happy belated birthday! :) Sounds like it was a good one. Hey, any day that includes Godiva chocolate cake can't be bad, right?
