On Saturday we took Ella to get fitted for new shoes. She's been wearing a size 4, but they fitted her as a 5.5. I felt like a crappy mom for shoving my poor kid's feet into shoes that are a size and a half too small, but lesson learned. Anyway, we bought her a new pair of Keds and some sandals.
Donald dressed Ella for school this morning (don't worry, I picked out the clothes). He came and asked me if I knew where her shoes were, so I told him where her Keds were. He says no, where are her pink tennis shoes. So I tell him where those are, but then start to wonder what the heck he wants those for since we just bought her new shoes. And here is our conversation:
Me: Why do you want her pink shoes?
Donald: I was going to put them on her for today.
Me: But they're size 4.
Donald: So?
Me: So she wears a 5.5.
Donald: So that means she can't wear her pink shoes any more?
Me: Seriously? They're a SIZE FOUR!
I swear he stood there for a full minute trying to figure out exactly why he couldn't cram our poor child's size 5.5 foot into her old size 4 shoes before finally giving up and putting her Keds on.
Use your brain!!

I hear you! Both of my children have limited pairs of shoes for exactly that reason. One pair at a time means that no one can put on the wrong shoes. lol
